Goodbye Steve and Krista! :(

As we mentioned, Greg's brother Steve and Steve's girlfriend, Krista, are moving to Connecticut this week. We had a "goodbye celebration" at Mancini's with them, Greg's parents, Greg's aunt and uncle, and Grandma. We had a great time, though it was obviously bittersweet!
Above- Steve and Krista- so cute.

The Fam- Nicole, Greg, Steve, Krista, Mary Kay, and Rod.

Grandma, Steve and Krista.

Grandma and Steve- cute or what?

The Fam again. Good luck Steve and Krista! We are so excited for you guys!!

Going Away Party :(

Greg's brother Steve and Steve's girlfriend, Krista, are moving to Connecticut this month. We are VERY excited for them, but also bummed- we're going to miss them!

Anyway, Greg went to his going away party a couple of weekends ago. Above is the group of guys at Fogo De Chao. Before that they played some craaaazy paintball.

Greg and Matt...niiiiice.

Kendall...what are you looking at??

Dimitri and Jenkins...apparently the man of honor wasn't allowing pics...ha

This past weekend was our friend Beth's birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETHY! Her husband Jesse set up a party for her at their house...awwww, what a man.

Nicole and Bethy

Some of the peeps at the party, a.k.a. DEER FEED...mmmmm, good stuff.

Jennifer and Scott

Joel and Thomps

Also, last week Nicole went to a baby shower for Michelle, one of her friends at work.

Above is Karmen (another co-worker) with baby Addison and Michelle with baby Grayson. The babies were born on the same day- can you believe it?? SO CUTE.

A random cat pic- I just thought Poster was so cute this morning, trying to enjoy that patch of sunlight up until the last minute before it disappeared.

And finally, LIAM!!

He's 7 months old now! Nicole got to babysit last week, and her mom and Greg also stopped by to play. Above, he's playing with his John Deere tractor.

Liam eating his dinner! And wearing a lot of it. :) He was a trooper even though his bottom 2 teeth just broke through...with more on the way, of course.

Liam playing with Uncle Greg. We had so much fun! Love you, Liam!!!

State Fair 2008!

Wow, we love the Fair. We can't tell you how much. We also had our nice new camera to take pics with! We were able to go to the Fair THREE times this year...and had an absolute blast. We were even able to meet some local and national celebrities, as you will see ahead. WARNING: insane amount of pics ahead....
Above- the entrance to the Fair. This was Day 1- Greg and I by ourselves.

Turkey sandwiches!! One of our favorite things to eat.

Look at all of the people!! Apparently the MN State Fair has the highest daily attendance of any state fair in the U.S. Texas beats us by overall attendance, but their fair runs a whole month.

Deep fried pickles- mmmmm!!!!

We saw Tonic Sol-fa at the Leinie Lodge- great show!! We also saw Trampled By Turtles later that night.

Greg thought about taking this Harley home...

The Heisman Trophy in the U of M building

A baby cow in the Birth Center...saw so many cute baby animals!

Ahhh....one of the great things about the Fair is the variety of people. We didn't know Zubaz were still in style. With matching do-rags.

Enjoying a beer and some reggae music.

Greg and Jeff Passolt- local news personality! What a nice guy!

Greg and Nicole with Mike Pomeranz!

Hey, Uncle Ed! This brownie was just for you! Well, and for Nicole, a little bit..:)

The cats playing with their new crinkle bag we got them at the Fair- it was a hit.

Day 2- we met up with Nicole's brother Sean and nephew Liam! It was so fun to see the Fair "through Liam's eyes."

Sean, Greg and Liam on a huge John Deere tractor.

Liam and Auntie Nikki by the tractors.

Look at that tongue! Silly guy.

Taking a rest and having a "bottle break."

Isn't this the coolest pic?? Liam with Daddy, watching the kiddie rides. Liam absolutely loved all of the lights and was just mesmerized.

Sean with some "ribbon fries"- WOW were those good!! Homemade chips with cheese, sour cream, and bacon bits...we could feel our arteries clogging.

Greg, Sean and Liam having a good time while watching a comedy act at the Leinie Lodge. Liam was such a trooper- we were there for quite a while!

Day 3- we met up with Angie, Dave, Lily, Jenny, Chris, and later Sean, Brenda, and Liam.

Dave, Ang, and Lily! Lily eating Sweet Martha's cookies the way you're supposed to- getting chocolate everywhere! Ang is 37 weeks pregnant- isn't she cute???

Then, out of nowhere came Mitt Romney! We got to shake his hand. He was of course in town for the RNC.

And, we got to meet Marjorie Johnson, the Cookie Lady! You may have seen her a few times on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Jenny asked her who her favorite celebrity was that she has met, and she said Matthew Mcconaughey- ha!

Chris and Greg got to be sportscasters for a few minutes...what professionals!

Greg pitching like the pros...

Nicole and Jenny with some awesome hats at The Australian Outback store. Nice.

Liam with his signature s***- eating grin...he's always up to something!

Sean, Brenda and Liam taking a break after having some turkey sandwiches.

Jenny got to hold Liam- he liked her!

Does it get any cuter than this??

A view of the kiddie rides from the Sky Glider.

Nicole on the Sky Glider- what a great way to end another year at the Fair!

Of course, it's obligatory that we post a list of everything we ate:
deep fried pickles
malts
foot long hot dogs
corn dog
pronto pup
taco
ribbon fries
chocolate-covered bacon (Pig Lickers)
Sweet Martha's cookies
tater tots on a stick
brownie
home-made nut roll
chocolate-covered potato chips
cheese curds
turkey sandwiches
deep fried ravioli
And what's sad, is we're probably forgetting something. (It WAS over 3 days, but it's still insane.)

This past Saturday we also had Nicole's Mom and Tom's Harvest Party at their house. They have a huge garden and we get to eat all of the food that comes out of it at this party. What a great time!

Cousins Amy and Alex with Liam!

Greg and his dad Rod taking care of the grilling. Mmmm, those burgers and brats were good!

Amy, Sean, Liam, and Joanie.

Adrianna! We suppose you could call her our "step-niece." Isn't she adorable?

Whew! That's it for now. We still have yet to post pics from the Thompson cabin weekend. Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Until next year, MN State Fair.
