Fall Stuff

Just some random pics...

Isn't nephew Liam so CUTE? :) Sean and Brenda took him to the pumpkin patch last week, and apparently he had a blast.

This was after another visit to another patch the next day- whew! So tired. :) Thanks for the pics, Sean and Brenda!

And, here are some "marathon action shot photos." Sorry some are small...

Greg running hard...

Greg and his cousin Mark...look at that form! Not sure what mile this was.

Just a cool shot of the start

Chris and Jenny were cheering people on from a family member's yard- man, was I glad to see them!

Ok, this pic turned out a little psycho...this was around mile 11 or 12...still feeling great.

Jenny had to open up my energy beans for me- my hands were too cold!

Here's me about to cross the finish line, with my mom cheering me on at the fence!

This is a pic of some of the leaders, when it was REALLY pouring.
Thanks for the pics, Mom, Tom, Chris and Jenny! (and asi)

Finally, last weekend we went to a party at Brian's house and played a little Rock Band. We'll be going on tour this summer...keep your eyes peeled.

Our "rock star poses"

Brian doing his "Captain Morgan stance" while I'm trying to play the drums

The group of us...yikes (minus Brian).
Thanks for the pics, Brian!

Finally, Just What You've Been Waiting For...

The long-awaited pictures from the Thompson Cabin Weekend in August have arrived.

The squeamish may want to look away.

They are entertaining, nonetheless.

Wait for it....

Wait for it....

Niiiiice, eh?? Long story short, when a bunch of us headed up to Grand Rapids, MN for Thompson cabin weekend, Greg decided to play a little joke on everyone and purchased this lovely Speedo. No one had a clue that he was going to have this on...and trust me, it was quite the surprise...seriously one of the funniest things ever.

Back view...hands off, ladies, he's all mine.

Just in case you wanted even more footage, here's the video of the "unveiling." Watch Alicia's face as Greg is untying his shorts- she's wondering, "What the heck..." Be sure to have your sound up!

OK, now for some more G-rated pics. Ryan and Alicia on the pontoon the 1st night we were there, doing some fishing!

Nicole fishing for the big one.

Ryan, we're so proud of you! You touched a worm!

Greg caught the biggest fish in the lake.

Nicole chopping a nice, juicy worm in half.

Thomps, Alicia and Joel, taking it easy.

Joel's awesome pink shorts.

We had a bonfire that night- specialty brats and beer were had by all. Mmmmm.

Thomps and Alicia made a DELICIOUS breakfast the next day. Hashbrowns, french toast, the whole works.

Then it was back out on "The Armada!" We had beautiful weather. Joel enjoying the ride.

That day Jason, Erica, Cindy and Hoops came out and joined us.

Alica and Hoops on the trampoline

Greg in the little pirate ship and Nicole enjoying floating out on the water.

Greg's millionth attempt to go down the slide...he initially tried to go down in the pirate ship, which didn't work...

We headed to the Itasca County Fair later that day...WOOOOHOOOO!! :) Nicole and Joel having some corn on the cob and milkshakes.

Greg with the roosters...good thing he didn't have his Speedo on, those Roosters can be vicious.

Time for some fun!

Joel and Thomps playing some darts.

Erica and Jason playing a mean game of ping pong.

Greg and Nicole at the fus table.

Joel and Greg at the air hockey table.

What a fun weekend- thanks, Thompsons!!!

Twin Cities Marathon 2008!!

WE DID IT!!

Sunday, October 5th, we ran the Twin Cities Marathon! This was Nicole's 2nd Marathon and Greg's 8th. It was quite the day- it rained hard for about the first 12-13 miles, but then thankfully stopped. We got pretty darn wet, but made it to the end! Nicole finished in 4:41 (cut almost 10 minutes off of her Chicago marathon time!) and Greg and his cousin Mark finished at 3:50.
Above- both of us after the race! Wet and tired.
By the way- it may be hard to see in these pics, but Greg shaved a goofy mustache just for the race- ha

Greg after the race in front of the capitol.

Nicole's mom and Tom were nice enough to come and watch us finish! Thanks you guys!!

Just before the race in the metrodome- Mark, Nicole and Greg.

Also, thanks to Beth, Jesse, Jenny and Chris who came and cheered for us along the way! You guys have no idea how much that helped!! And, thanks Rod and Mary Kay for dropping us off and picking us up! That was also a huge help.
We'll hopefully have some "marathon action shots" up soon. Otherwise, this will probably be our last marathon for quite a while...maybe another a few years down the road. :)

For other events the past couple of weeks:

I (Nicole) went to visit Angie and Dave and meet their new little girl, Audrey! Above- mommy with Audrey- isn't she sweet?? Audrey was about 2 weeks old in this picture.

Pretty girl Audrey.

I also had an absolute blast playing with Lily- she is so funny and is a wonderful big sister! She is always on the move, so I barely caught this picture as she came and stood at my feet and looked up. Such a cutie.

Nicole holding Audrey.

And for another cute baby- LIAM!

We babysat last week. He's now 8 months old! Here he is in one of his favorite toys- he can walk around and around in circles in this contraption and absolutely loves it- he thinks he's hot stuff!

Auntie Nikki and Liam.

Liam playing with Uncle Greg.

Such a sweet picture. What a handsome guy! Always smiling.

And finally, cat pictures:

Another weird Tiger thing: He's obsessed with our running shoes...or basically any shoes with laces. The second you put them on, he has to run over and scratch along the laces like it's a scratching post..even though he has no front claws. And he usually has to do this to both feet.

We've also mentioned Tiger's obsession with people food. Usually we don't let him do this, but he cracked us up the other night- he insisted on sitting in my chair with me and sticking his head underneath my armpit..hoping for a morsel of taco. Strange cat.

And this was the scene on our couch a few nights ago...Poster passed out...

And Greg passed out with Tiger. So comfy.

Stay tuned for more marathon pics!
